Contrast Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Nordeste Digital LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Contrast mobile application (the “app”). Contrast is a tool for parents and caregivers: high-contrast black-and-white cards to show your baby, together with shushing, white noise, and heartbeat sounds. The app is intended for use by adults and is not directed to children.
The Short Version
- The app has no accounts and no sign-up. We do not collect personal information ourselves and we run no analytics of our own.
- We do not collect any information from or about your child. The optional baby birth month you can enter stays on your device only and is never transmitted.
- The free version shows non-personalized banner ads through Google AdMob on parent-facing menu screens only — never on the card viewer. The advertising and crash-reporting services the app uses process limited device data, described below.
- A one-time purchase removes ads.
Who the App Is For
Contrast is designed to be operated by an adult. You hold the phone and choose what is shown; your baby only views the screen and cannot operate the app, make purchases, or interact with ads. The app is intended for adults (parents and caregivers) and is not directed to children.
Information We Collect

The app does not require or offer an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal information, and we do not include any analytics service of our own. We do not operate servers that receive data from the app.
Information Stored Only on Your Device
Your in-app settings (such as selected sounds, volume, timer, and unlocked content) are stored locally on your device. You may optionally enter your baby's birth month to organize card packs by age; “Prefer not to say” is always available. The birth month is stored only on your device, is never sent to us or to any third party, and is never used for advertising. You can remove this information at any time in the app's settings or by uninstalling the app.
Information About Your Child: None
We do not collect any information from or about your child. No information about your child leaves your device.
Third-Party Services
The app uses a small number of third-party services to show ads and report crashes. These services process limited data from your (the adult's) device, as described below. We have configured each of them to minimize the data involved.
Google AdMob (Advertising)
The free version of the app shows banner ads served by Google AdMob on parent-facing menu screens only; ads never appear on the card viewer. We request non-personalized ads only, and on iOS we do not use the App Tracking Transparency framework or request permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect: your IP address (which provides approximate location), device and other identifiers, information about your interactions with ads and the app, and diagnostic data. This data is shared with Google. For details, see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Purchases
The app's one-time Premium purchase is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive your name, email address, or payment card details, and we do not send your purchase information to any other service.
Sentry (Crash Reporting)
We use Sentry to receive crash and performance reports so we can find and fix bugs. These reports contain technical diagnostic data such as crash logs, device model, and operating system version. We have configured Sentry not to store IP addresses, and reports do not include your identity, your settings, or any information about your child. See the Sentry Privacy Policy.
Your Advertising Privacy Choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app shows a consent message (Google's User Messaging Platform) before ads are requested. You can review or change your choices at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy options. Where required by United States state privacy laws, an equivalent privacy message is shown. Regardless of your choices, we only ever request non-personalized ads.
The one-time Premium purchase removes ads from the app entirely.
Data Retention and Deletion
We do not maintain any servers or databases of user data, so there is no data for us to retain or delete. Information stored on your device is deleted when you clear it in the app or uninstall the app. The third-party services listed above retain the data they process in accordance with their own policies, linked above. If you have questions about, or need help with, data held by any of these services, contact us and we will assist you.
Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is made to be operated by an adult; a baby only views the screen while the adult holds the device. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at the address below and we will work with you to delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information (for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or under various United States state privacy laws). Because we do not collect or hold personal information ourselves, such requests will usually concern the third-party services listed above — but you are welcome to contact us and we will help direct or fulfill your request.
Security
The app keeps your settings on your device. Data processed by the third-party services above is encrypted in transit.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
